Management Accounting and Bookkeeping

Many small businesses start off life with simple spreadsheets for recording transactions, Word documents for invoicing, and quick and easy solutions to the accounting needs of the business. At first this works perfectly well, it’s quick and simple leaving the hard pressed owner manager time to get on with what he or she enjoys – doing the actual work for the customers.

Eventually however the volume of business means that these simple systems get over-loaded and back-logs start to build up. It’s normally at that point we get a call for assistance or a recommendation from an accountant or auditor.

Alfred Ivy provides a tailored service setting up computerised accounting systems for these busy small businesses – together with practical hands-on training and support for the accounting personnel involved. The aim is to provide an efficient system that requires minimum resources and time. To achieve this we work closely with the owners and managers over a period of months, to fully understand the business practicalities and needs, so that the solution implemented is workable, understandable and liked.

Fees vary considerably for this type of work, depending upon the complexity of the task. Usually a monthly fee is agreed, which is reviewed regularly during the project and reduces as the business’ staff are trained and then run the new procedures themselves.
